The City of the Future on the Roads: Interactive Exhibition Stand Design in the Form of a Bus for İSBAK
Designing a trade fair stand for İSBAK, a company contributing to Istanbul's smart city architecture, means bringing technology to the very heart of life: the roads. The "Smart Bus" concept stand we designed for İSBAK as BayZ Design aims to showcase the brand's traffic management, fleet tracking, and passenger information systems within a real-world usage scenario.
Concept: Technology-Driven Architecture
The main body of this stand is designed as a stylized, futuristic replica of a modern Istanbul bus (Metrobus or electric bus). Upon entering the stand, visitors don't just enter an exhibition area, but a "movement center" equipped with İSBAK's smart systems. The front of the bus is designed like a digital panel, in line with the brand's vision, while the side panels transform into display and interaction units.
Interactive Experience: Not a Journey, but a Technology Discovery
The interior and exterior of this bus-shaped structure are divided into strategic areas to allow visitors to experience İSBAK's products:
Driver's Cockpit (Smart Command Center): The bus's driver's cabin is transformed into a control center where ISBAK's traffic management software and smart signaling systems are simulated. Visitors can sit in the operator's seat and digitally manage the city.
Passenger Information Displays: Transparent LED screens or touch panels used in place of bus windows showcase real-time public transport data, stop prediction systems, and ISBAK's data analysis capabilities.
Payment and Access Systems: Istanbulkart validators and biometric access systems integrated into the bus entrance allow visitors to experience contactless payment technologies live.
Technical Details and Material Quality
To create the curved and modern structure of the bus-shaped stand, CNC-cut plexiglass and composite panels are applied to a high-quality wooden frame. ISBAK's corporate colors, white and navy blue, are applied to the exterior of the stand using high-gloss lacquer paint.
The floor is prepared with a special durable epoxy coating in anthracite color or high-quality rubber to give a realistic road feel. For the stand's lighting, hidden LED strips and motion-sensor lighting are preferred, reminiscent of the interior lighting of a bus but enhancing its technological sophistication.
Why a stand in the shape of a bus?
Memorability: Among the classic box-shaped stands, the silhouette of a giant bus became the most photographed and visited spot in the exhibition area.
Contextual Marketing: ISBAK's products (bus stop screens, in-vehicle systems) are much more understandable and effective when displayed where they belong, i.e., inside a vehicle.
Brand Story: For a brand that produces transportation technologies for Istanbul, being represented by a transportation vehicle reinforces the message of being "integrated with the city".
